The last photo is successful, nice collage. I like the second to top photo as well. The lighting is good and I like the way the figure is positioned and the backdrop is blurry.
I like the pics with the book a lot, I think they are a great starting point for more like it. Also, the collage pics turned out really nice, and they would make a really good series.
These are some great pictures. I really enjoy the first couple with the man and the paper...I know that is a play off of your recreation and I like that you are continuing that idea. The first collage one is my favorite and I would recommend playing around with that idea some more...I really enjoy those.
The last photo is really interesting...i love the way the collage turned out. I think that the third picture down is really strong because of the shadows and contrast...if you lightened the picture underneath it a little bit more I think that it would be really successful too.
I think these are really strong...I really think you could go either way with them. It's amazing how different the images with the heels look in the photo as opposed to real like...I think my favorite so far is the one with the tea can. I also enjoy the ones with the wood figure. To me it looks like he's working on the book or something (i don't know why.) What if you did some more to have him convey different emotions?
i love, love LOVVEEEE the top series and I think you should continue with that. I love the work you did with the book and how it seems as those this house made out of the book is this little figures house. It also makes it feel like he is sad and lonely which makes me feel like I want to know more and make sure he is ok. I would keep going with that. I also love the lighting for that series too. it is perfect for it.
The other ones are really cool and interesting but I am personally drawn to the top series and that idea/concept.
I like the second one because it made the figure looked like alive and frustrated. also i love the last picture. The color of the heels perfectly matched with the tea can.
second image seems sad. i feel empathy for the character. i like the collage. creating a way that the flat cut-outs interact with the ground or the wall or another object could really push this further. for example what if the high heel was kicking something in another collage? or it was stepping on something real?
definitely keep playing with the paper as a material for sculpture like your recreation. that works very well. i like the idea of inserting a new element. i wonder what elements you can insert into a paper sculpture??? maybe something completely different from a human form or something else unexpected?

ReplyDeleteThe recreation images are great, the recreation you did turned out very well and I love how playful they turned out to be!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the cutouts are great! the images layered upon each other are very interesting, especially the burred one.
Wonderful progress! Keep going!

ReplyDeleteI like the lighting and texture of the first image, and I can see how it relates to your recreation.
ReplyDeleteIt might be interesting to see the mannequin doing different activities, that would be a good jumping off point.

I think the images with the wooden drawing figure are really great and tell a nice narrative.
