Rommert Boonstra Semi-Contemporary Photographer
Since 1980 Rommert Boonstra devotes his life to photography and poetry. Before that time he was a theatre director. He published hundreds of articles about art and traveling in numerous Dutch magazines and taught photography at several art academies.
Boonstra is one of the founding fathers of Staged Photography in the Netherlands. Mostly he works in his studio, but on several occasions he did projects about museum collections, that were made in the museum itself. These projects resulted in exhibitions of images, objects, texts and installations.
Four books are published about his photo works.
